Dear Deer

performance at the Clipa Bar

Every day of the festival, at the Clipa Theater Bar, before the main show begins, Zvi (Hebrew word for Deer) warms up the audience, juggles with the drinks and kick-starts the food in a variety of bizarre characters.
The Dear Deer is a completely different deer every day, adapting to its natural habitat, according to the native country of the group performing that day.
The typical Israeli Deer will sing Israeli folk music when the Israeli groups perform, Giorgio the charlatan charmer deer will accompany the Italian Group, Slippery Gustav will mix cool drinks for the Finish group, a mysterious character will accompany the Japanese performers and finally – the dear deer will go back to its origins when the Russian group arrives.

Creator, performer, writer, player, baker and bar-deer: Zvi Patrovsky.

Dance Theater
Three duets between a person and its shadow, combining dance and video art.
A struggle and a separation of a figure from its shadow, in  a precise and complex dialog with the shadow world.
The piece deals with the tension between the Visible and the hidden, with the secretes that threaten to burst out of the disciplined and meticulous dancer's body, undergoing an unveiling process, dealing with his disobedient shadow.

Rite of Spring

An Adaptation by dancer and creator Hilel Cogan to the Rite of Spring, a milestone in the history of dance, readapted by countless choreographers since it's premier, with the choreography of the legendary Vaclav Nijinsky.

The original music by Igor Stravinsky, alongside quotes of choreographers and ghosts from the dance pantheon, draw the fine line on which Cogan walks to sacrifice himself as the victim for his ritual. The victim's conflict takes place between the mind and the hart, between the beast and the civilized man, between the loyal patriot and the traitor.

In a series of images based on performance clichés and with obedience to Stravinsky's music, a limited and fixed time exists, the spring, a time of an urgent opportunity to concur and exercise passions.

Creator and performer: Hilel Cogan
Music: Igor Stravinsky
Costumes and props: Hilel Cogan
Artistic advice: Irad Matzliach and Nava Zukerman

Created for Intima Dance Festival 2011, Tmuna Theater.

My father is a clown!

Modern Clowning

Unexpected incidents happen to F', an actor and a very serious person, on his way to the show you are about to watch tonight. F' gets in to trouble and doesn't arrive to fulfil your expectations.
He does not break a leg, he is not arrested for an interrogation and even his clown father doesn't help him in developing the problematic plot.
Eventually, we are left with no choice but to be careless and float, weightless and with no content, on the laughter waves, in the brilliant nonsense world of mister F'.

Fyodor Makarov (1975), actor, clown and creator, graduate of the school for visual theater in Jerusalem. Amongst his selected and complex roles: a Shark in "Snowshow", Monkey in "marvels and wonders", and a Pigeon in "a Pigeon and a Boy" (Gesher Theater).
